Wright is getting very talkative these days. In a recent interview, he described Obama as being “steeped in Islam,” and said that he (Wright) personally had to introduce him to Christianity and answer the most basic questions. He added that neither of the Obamas subsequently became “church people,” and opined that Obama mainly attended the church for the political connections.

Its not like we havn’t know about rev wright for years. Fox ran stories on him 24/7. You know who we DON’T know about? romneys pastor. Mormons are such a mysterious people. What do we know about what goes on in there. Or how his religion is influencing his unamerican beliefs? Maybe fox, after whining for years about Obama not being vetted (dispite all evidence to the countrary) should take the time to vet romney.

Amen Brother Bruce!I am not Morman, but I have a high respect for those who are. All that I have met are good people willing to help others.I don’t know who to vote for this time. I’m not in favor of Obama’s socialism, nor Romney’s unbridled capitalism. They’re both not healthy or sustainable. I really don’t see a lesser evil in this one.

Southern Baptist Convention – lots of weirdness there. Adventists- lots of “strangeness” there that mimics LDS. Jehovahs at the door- lock it and ignore. LDS does have some very nice people, but you do NOT want to raise your kids in a community that is controlled by LDS if you aren’t.Roman Catholics and Anglicans eat the flesh and drink the blood of Christ- kinda’ like vampires and zombies??? Pentecostal “holy rollers” get loud, baby! At the same time, the Society of Friends, DOES tend to believe in treating others as friends, and not killing them because they’re “different”. Certainly not what the attacks on Wright, Obama, OR Romney represent!

So many hundreds of denominations, all claiming to be the “only real” worshippers of Christ, yep, one religion indeed.

The truly sad part is that with very, very, rare exceptions, the “church of hypocrisy” is what most, especially “fundamentalists” attend and promote.

Sounds to me like your minister sold you a bill of goods.

Overt persecution forced the church to leave New York, and they had to leave Missouri because Governor Boggs signed an executive order requiring the state militia to kill or expel anyone who was Mormon.

Your bit about race relations is incorrect, evidence that you’re a few decades behind on the topic. In fact, not only is Gladys Knight a member of the church now, she’s made numerous public appearances with the leadership and has recorded a few new gospel albums.

As far as the temple goes, it’s actually because the critics of the church make it a point to mock, degrade, and even physically defile what we hold dear. If they did it to anyone else it’d be a hate crime, but because they’re doing it to us no one seems to care.

Evangelicals have a tough choice this year: a white Mormon or a black Christian.

What’s all this nonsense about learning about Mormonism by "going inside? "

I’ve visited the temple square in Salt Lake City, but they won’t let non-mormons attend their services.

The area I live in is so overtly hostile to us Mormons that not even the presence of a full crew from a local newspaper kept people from threatening to shoot them.

The building I attend services at has actually been vandalized, desecrated, and even entered so often that the building coordinator has the police on speed dial.

    It’s bad at times.

Not even close. I don’t put to much effort into arguing with trolls. Don’t get me wrong, you guys have your uses, and can be very entertaining, but not worth the extra effort.

BTW: Rev. Wright was a U.S. Marine, and medic, before becoming a minister. What did Robertson, Fallwell, Haggard, or well, Mitt (lay ministry) do to protect and defend??

I’m glad I live in a state that allows all religions to worship as they please…. and it took a Wiccan Coven to get that law into the books!…and my Spiritual Journey started with the Southern Baptist Convention. I left that “church” when I realized I had to get married in order to be taken seriously! I’m glad I did; I’m happier as a Pagan than I was as a Christian.….and no, I’m not bashing Christians – just one of their Denominations. I’ve learned that there are good and bad people in any religion, so I give folk the benefit of the doubt until they prove otherwise. As Christ said: “By their fruits you shall know them.”

And sorry, righties, despite the efforts to take all his comments totally out of context, when listening to his full sermon(s), I have to agree with a lot of what he had to say, AS A TRUE PATRIOT, calling attention to our “failings”, and calling out those who’ve BETRAYED US! Isn’t that what a true “man of faith” is supposed to do???
