well, some of them went into politics, and then there were the real scary ones that started drawing cartoons… and that sparked a new breed of monsters that wrote comments about those cartoons.

It doesn’t look to me like the gummint has forced thebanks to cease all of their underhanded hidden charges, and unscrupulous banking methods. Merely forced tthem to be even more underhanded, if anything!

I don’t believe him…bankers have no vested interest in hacking off my arm or foot if they hang outside the blanket. I’m tellin’ ya’, there’s still something under there!

As a banker for the past 26 years, I can honestly say that I’m proud of the work I’ve done. There are some Wall Street bank executives that got way out of hand, but Main Street bankers are not of the same breed.

Usury is NOT banking or money lending unless it is unfair: M-W defines it as "the lending of money with an interest charge for its use; especially : the lending of money at exorbitant interest rates and: an unconscionable or exorbitant rate or amount of interest; specifically : interest in excess of a legal rate charged to a borrower for the use of money

Re Wiley: Once again he shows his hatred for the business world which he will deny by saying it’s just a joke.

Re most of you commenters: Where did you learn your anti-business prejudices? I’d really like to know.

I’m not a fan of banks, either, but they’re not the sole reason for all the foreclosures over the past few years. A lot of people trying to buy houses they were in no fiscal position to pay for, but banks/mortgage companies who didn’t approve loans would’ve faced heat from the Feds for discrimination. Plenty of blame to go around: Financial instituitions, government and buyers with eyes bigger than their wallets.

The Ol’ Man’s lucky he’s got such a long nose. The sides of his glasses are nowhere near his ears.FYI: There are no monsters. They’re all on strike for having lost their contracts and pension plans. Something to do with bank managers.

Given a choice, who would you choose? A Banker or an Undertaker ? They are both going to bury you.I’ve never heard of an undertaker taking a $75,000,000.00 yearly bonus, though.

As pointed out, local banks and credit unions, (which are far superior to banks) are good people. We all know the difference between them and the ones Wiley is joking about….The outrage is the comparison of innocent home town monsters under the bed, with those reptilian predators. It’s a slander of Under the bed monsters, everywhere! You have to admit the ones under your bed, (Yes, the ARE there!) are at least much more personal….Despair globally, and fear locally, I say…

Re; Today’s strip. The first rule of Parenting is to remain enigmatic! Kids should never know if your serious or joking, especially, after they grow up! That and spoiling grandchildren are your greatest revenge on your kids.

You banker-haters are so immature and naive. Ever heard of the Community Reinvestment Act? The Liberals wanted to give breaks to low income neighborhoods, so they made rules that coerced banks into lowering their standards in order to “level the playing field”. Oh yeah, I just love that old socialist cliche. Hatred of bankers smacks of anti-semitism in 1920s Germany, and you know how that turned out! You children need to grow up!

Come on people, the real victims of society in the last twenty years, are those poor rich people. Oh, how they have suffered in recent years…I hear them whining like little girls about paying the same tax rate as the rest of us. Poor babies…
