She should have said “smart phone.” There are other choices like Android, Symbian, and Windows Phone. I use a “smart phone” to do all those things, without being tied to Apple. Of course, if JF got a royalty fee from Apple, I can forgive the shill.
For those who can’t afford touch phones (like me) and think that iPhones are for pussies (me again) and favour Androids (still me), conventional phones are still the best option.
My first phone was a Motorola RAZR V3i. It was a beautiful little thing, too.
I used to be the one who fought against it… first I didn’t want a cell phone, but with kids eventually had to get one. Then I just wanted the most basic one that only made phone calls. Now I have an iPhone and love it. I use it for many useful things, however I make a point of talking with people at meals rather than playing on my phone and not picking it up whenever there’s any free time. The problem is usually the person and not the phone.
It is getting more and more difficult to find a phone that you can make phone calls on. I have one that I can make calls on. That’s it. If I need any of that other stuff, I can play on my computer. Or look at a map. Or ignore all the “celebrity news.”
I’m with Boyd in this one too.I still have my “chocolate bar” Sony Ericksson w810, it makes calls, plays mp3s and takes ‘decent’ 2mp photos. This summer it will be its 5th birthday and I love it.
