Sorry, Mr., 5 cents doesn’t even get you half a candy bar (or even a gum ball) these days.

I pick ’em up and put them in my Jack Daniels bottle…last time I emptied it, I had $75.00

Exactly funituremaker. One time, I found 33 cents, all in pennies that someone threw out. All because they were pennies, someone threw them away. That was 33cents more than I had before. Just save the change, you would be surprised how quickly the cents turn into dollars.

I’m not ashamed to pick a penny up from the ground. It does all add up. I call it my “mad money.”

Hey, don’t throw it away! I have a jar in my car that counts your $. We only put in found $. In just one week, we have $12!! Not bad! At the end of the month, we get a free lunch or dinner.

I’ll take that nickel and add it to the other nickels I’ve found on the ground!

I put all my found $ in a piggy bank and at the end of the year I take it to the local SPCA. It does add up.

Only coins I don’t pick up are not heads up pennies..and I too can remember getting sick on 5 cents worth of candy.

All stray coins around my house go in the coin box, an big old metal box with a handle. Pennies, Nickels, found coins, pocket change, under the cushions change, the whole lot. Then once a year we take the box to the bank and get the family some nice something we’d other wise not be able to afford. Last year we had $255 in there! =)

Nickel chocolate bars were also the size of the $1+ bars you get today. And they tasted like real chocolate not weird sweetened wax.
