It’s amazing how an image without any words can speak out so powerfully and in so many volumes.

Holly is a remarkable person. She doesn’t shy aside when there is someone in distress. I think her emotions are more for the whole of humanity at this point, not just the cruelity that Wally remembers. That is what he was talking about. The cruelity all around at that point. He was and is still very crushed by the inhumanity that those he has been working with, supposed friends??? turn on him in such a vulger fashion. I like how Wally is wringing his hands and Holly decides to hold them. She looks like a woman who finally understands Wally’s pain and how Ally’s words affected him.

This is so sad. Holly is an incredible individual to help him through this.

The diseased world has been dealt a death blow, by blast and plague and atrophied indifference. The likes of Holly and Wally are keeping the human flame alive.This is not a story about revenge. The picture in panel 2 I am betting is the Teacher herself . The panel frames a memorial to her in Wally’s mind.

Yes, Wally still sees her face, will likely never forget. And kudos to Mr. Neathery for trusting his readers to remember the rest of the dream. Now we see that Wally just equates Flask’s attitude to that of his Apex leaders of the time – she hasn’t changed, she still thinks like them, and he won’t.And Jenner, is today’s Doc Rat a sly nudge in Holly’s direction in panel 1? :)

Poor Wally. He feels nothing he does will wash her blood from his hands.

It’s been commented on hundreds of times, but still cannot help but be blown away but the details Aaron works into these drawings. The wedding ring in frame 1 and the kids pictured in frame 2 tell all you need to know about the “whole family”.

“…I don’t think anyone’s gonna die….that blood is bright red.” That would be great if all that blood were still inside someone’s body. But as it is….

WOW COLOR!!! This is the first strip I remember being in color!

I agree with vburke, this splash of color really shocks.

It helps to understand one’s demons in order to fight them. Wally may not have really understood what he was fighting inside until he had to explain it to someone else.

I wonder when we’ll see Holly’s story.

Dear Holly, with her cute little crooked tail. She is going to say something about his hand. Don’t know what. maybe that’s his gun hand and feeling a flashback, maybe he feels red-handed. I know she will help him somehow.

Again with the left hand. Now during the fight with Doug, he shot left handed, but when preparing to charge out of the PT, he was handling the gun in his right hand. (The dittos portrayed him shooting right handed). Maybe he’s an ambi anthro?

Holly is holding the hand, giving her strength through a personal connection, reminding Wally’s hands that they can do more than feel guilt—they can share love.

this reminds me of the way the country feels most days.I’m writing from my heart, but some of it’s political, so don’t read it if you are conservative, OK?

THe horror of war, the deaths and the maiming and the soldiers mental anguish, and what kind of person could do that and not be full of PTSD?

The killing the earth with fracking, and slaughtering wolves, and the pipeline over the aquifer .near my home. .The indifference to the suffering of the poor. Trying to kill the affordable health care act. It’s about the same as paying into medicare and social security. We have to have driving insurance too, if we want to drive.

THe horror of partial birth abortions, but not allowing Any abortions could end up with a dead mom and a dead baby too.the war on women and how a governor took away equal pay.then what about HAARP and chem-trails? why are there still racists and what to do about the ecology.

it just gets to be all too much! And now we will have hate filled political ads, and unbridled attacks by the super pacs.

Why can’t we all just be nice? WHy can’t we all get along!

I get depressed, but it’s such a wonderful world, I have a thing with small rocks, the patterns that can be found on some. I also had to have my cat put down.How can anything have such beautiful eyes and then not live forever? I love these wonderful characters in Arron’s head and he has such talent, he can get the looks just right. Thinking about the good does help with the bad.And when something hangs in the balance, what to put in, what to leave out may we all do the best we can.

I wonder how many Wally took out (gave black eyes etc) before they got him sedated.— And how many of those were likewise – just following orders.

As to why we can’t get along. - Same as Wally’s problem- too many simply believe and blindly follow the propaganda of their leaders – because it’s the path of least resistance. And it takes real thought to examine each position. Therefore the leaders of both sides deliberately try to make it so that it’s “all too much” so that their followers with take the abriviated (and wrong) sound bite and run with it. The leaders have an objective – therefore they manipulate the data – and contrary to popular belef, its not just one side that does it. Power corrupts — well we know the rest of the saying.
