I remember the ‘08 race. I remember the “3 a.m. phone call”, and something about Hillary being “likeable enough”. I don’t remember anything as turbulent or rough as the current Republican race (whisper campaigns notwithstanding). Of course, I could be missing something, so feel free to remind me of what I’ve left out.
In ‘08, the Democrats had two, decent, able, viable, candidates. I’m sure if the right had anyone at all with decency, ability, or viability, it would be easier for them to coalesce around that one.
