The simple fact is that despite their tax increases under Reagan and Bush 41 in an effort to reverse the error of “voodoo economics”, that disaster REMAINS responsible for most of our debt. It should be noted that “voodoo” includes war-making to instill fear in the nation, and maintain war spending, and profiteering, no matter the cost to taxpayers, and those shedding the blood. (Think Grenada and Panama in that “overkill effect”, not just Afghanistan and Iraq.)
At one time running up the debt was “unpatriotic” (Barack Obama on July 3, 2008, after 4 trillion of spending over eight years). Now, Obama has spent trillion over less than four years, and there’s nothing to see.
Eryx, as I told you in our correspondence, I try to give some leeway on the editorial pages. I do delete personal attacks, insults and name-calling, when I see them. If I see someone who’s a repeat offender with personal attacks, I’ll ban them. Most of what I’m alerted to is because of the flagging system. Just be sure that what you flag deserves to be flagged. I saw three people conspire to flag “libby times” every time he posts. I simply ignore the flags from those individuals. But if something deserves to be deleted, feel free to flag it.And trust me on this: I show no favoritism for one point of view over the other. I just want to keep things (somewhat) civil.
Were you in a coma a few weeks ago when a compromise was reached that someone does not have to pay for contraception if they are against it, but the insurance companies do? This is just the continuation of a 3+ year smear campaign by the right against president Obama.And if Obama, “REID”, and Pelosi are such leftists, and have pushed the country so far to the left since ‘06, then how come Obama didn’t raise taxes? How come the insurance reform that was passed was the individual mandate kind of reform that was created in the early 90’s by CONservatives, and backed by the likes of newt gingrich and the heritage foundation, rather then the single payer type? Why are we still in the middle east? and why is domestic drilling at an 8 year high?
It’s because you continue to insult people, rather than just make simple observations. Your tone in a lot of posts is such that you’re going to continue to get posts removed. Like I said, keep it civil.
UU: In regards to Eryx, despite them having dissenting posts, they tend to be one of the more level-headed liberals on the site. There are those on both sides of the aisle that deserve to be smacked upside the head, but Eryx isn’t one of them. While I disagree with most of what (s)he (don’t know your gender Eryx, sorry) posts, it doesn’t mean Eryx is a troll or prone to using a flamethrower.
Besides, name calling just discredits the user. Those who do it just post their stupidity for all to see when they do. There is flagging that goes on that shouldn’t, and posts that don’t get flagged that should. I have pretty thick skin, and I didn’t even flag Canuck’s post from the last toon (despite mine getting deleted), despite it getting under my skin in the worst possible way. But that doesn’t mean the people aren’t entitled to their opinions.
