Morning, Anniephans!Thank you, Gmartin. Harold Gray was one of the all-time greats.

Annie appears so nonchalant when she says Wooter was captured and hanged. What happens when a ghost is hanged anyway? But we still have a couple of unresolved conflicts. The local townspeople still consider Wooter a hero. And the mall is still scheduled to be built atop the graveyard.

Maybe Wooter van Wooter being hung is an indication that papers proving his Tory ties are being discovered. Remember, part of the current van Wooter’s influence is based on the belief that Eooter van Wooter was a hero of the American revolution. If the family is known to be descendants of a traitor, won’t the modern members of the town start questioning the motives of the current von Wooten?

The British regarded the Revolution as a rebellion against legitimate authority, which in the strict sense it was, and the revolutionaries as traitors. It became a revolution when the rebels won. Which is why a lot of Canadians revere their Loyalist ancestors. Of course if Wooter van Wooter had publicly and actively supported the Revolution before his betrayal then he’d be in the same boat a Benedict Arnold who was never well-regarded or trusted by the British even after he switched sides.

There was no American revolution – or civil war either. We have had two wars of secession. The first successful, the second not. The French had a revolution.

There was never any attempt by the Americans to take over the British government – we just wanted to be left alone. The south had no intention of taking over the north – they just wanted to be left alone.

When the Marxists finish taking over the US, that will be a revolution.
