Hello, Anniephans. I’m still having trouble with my posts. When I paste the text in the box and click submit, nothing happens.

Well, I glad these guys aren’t doing Annie any more. Not only can they not draw the characters correctly, they’re portraying Warbucks complete wrong. Oliver Warbucks never preached. He was one who’d wade in with his fists, instead. Annie was always the one who’d moralize or preach. Today’s strip would make Harold Gray roll over in his grave.

That’s how it is with war – good people on both sides say these things and believe them too, while the cynics and scoundrels seek their own advantage.

The “strength is important” sentiment is easily within the tradition of the Warbucks character (viz. the name), but the grandiose way he is speaking here seems more in character with the pompous fool “Count Oliviero” that he was playing in the last adventure. Given that he is wearing his wig here, that seems appropriate!
