P1 – Annie, by Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg / And the second installment of what is purported to be the secret diaries of the late American industrialist Oliver Warbucks has now been published in the German magazine, Der Schlocken (I think).P2 – (No dialog)P3 – A newspaper office somewhere in America / Business Desk. Harry Finney. / Hello, Harry. Oliver Warbucks here.P4 – Warbucks, say! It’s been five years. Weren’t you supposed to be dead, old pal? / That’s what the headlines say, Happy.P5 – Please don’t ask my whereabouts. My own lawyers don’t know. I assure you I’m quite unfindable. But you’re the only newsman I could ever trust. / Aw, need a friend, do you Oliver? Something to do with this diary business I suspect?P6 – Hah! My so-called posthumous tell-all journals! They’re bogus, Harry! Bald fiction! / That was my own guess, Oliver. The voice isn’t quite yours.P7 – Well, good to hear you’re still with us, old friend! Though of course this does mean you are in fact a fugitive from federal prosecution. / Oh, call it semi-fugitive. Haven’t been well. Been recovering my health. Much better now, thanks.P8 – But I take your point. Yes indeed! I do face indictments and frankly, my people have been on the verge of a deal with the Justice Department. Our nation is at war, now. Washington recognizes that I have many useful resources.P9 – But this absurd diary…full of insanities. Well, this upsets matters, jeopardizes things. Where did it come from, Harry? / Quite a puzzle, actually. The German magazine apparently bought it from mystery men. But I’m digging. Call me back tomorrow, Oliver.P10 – Huh! / Jay Maeder and Alan Kupperberg 1-6-02 P11 – Something up, Finney? / Oh, just popping open a little can of worms here.

Hey, do those newspapermen have actual eyes with pupils and everything? I can’t quite tell.
