Not every movie is improved by 3D.

Great movie, but most people didn’t like it. Too subtle No fight scenes, no explosions, no car chases, no sex. But still a great movie for the people who have enough patience and who think about what they see. (IMO)

Or for people who want to freak out every time they see an electric blanket for the whole rest of their lives.

‘Community’ did a nice, subtle spoof of this movie; sort of a “My Dinner With Abed.”

“Community” did do a wonderful spoof of “Andre” & other films. I love that program, but NBC seems determined to eliminate it. For those who liked “My Dinner With Andre” I recommend “Mind Walk” with Sam Waterston, Liv Ullman, & John Heard. Two hours of philosophical discussion while walking around Mont St. Michel. It’s fascinating.

“My Dinner With Andre” was fantastic. Almost as good as the hours of conversations overheard at a small but really nice restaurant in Jackson Wyoming in the summer of 1989. A very beautiful older woman (70’s?) was telling her younger campanions how she and her friends tortured those “georgous you boys with cars” when she was a girl. From a different table came a tale of how a successful dog breeder has to “figger in the cost per unit dog!”.

I am AMAZED that “My Dinner With Andre” got a mention in any way, shape, or form. What has it been, 20-some years! If you haven’t seen it, do so. And if you can’t find the 3-D version, well, your loss! rotflol.

My Dinner With Andre is thirty years old and is much better than Mindwalk, which is the pretentious version. I love that Jimmy Johnson has the nerve to refer to such an old, now obscure, movie.

Ande Kaufman’s “My Breakfast with Blassie” might work in 3D…

I keep reading that Baz Luhrmann who did Moulin Rogue, Australia, Strickly Ballroom, etc is redoing “The Great Gatsby” – in 3D. I don’t see the point of this.

Is this a crossover comic with Doonesbury’s Jan. 30, 2012, strip?

It’s the effect of first seeing the movie when I was too young, I think; what I took away from it was the notion of killing myself by going to bed.
