unfortunately, it’s not only the music. the hair styles, the clothes, the groups’ names…

I love the way Pluggers captures solid, hard working America, but this one misses the mark. Yes, I rolled my eyes at my parent’s Liberace and Lawrence Welk. I can still sing the entire “Good Night, Sleep Tight” song from memory, and can instantly determine someone else’s age by whether they remember it, too.But my kids listen to The Beatles, CCR, Santana, Led Zeppelin, and Elvis as much ore more than I did. And for sure, they’d have been more likely to be at Woodstock than I ever would.

The guy next door to me is loads younger than me and listens to nothing but 50’s rock and roll (Bill Haley etc). It amazes me that the local radio station is aimed at people my age and plays stuff that my parents would have enjoyed.

I would have gone to Woodstock but the Atlantic was too far to hitch.

Where’s the little bird picture on his shirt? Or would that be a copyright infringement?

I raised my kids on the clasics… the Beatles, Stones, CCR, Well you get the picture. the only one they did not like is John Denver, I blame the school chior for that one.

@itsme one day you will be old yourself and will be most likely told that you are supposedly irrelevant.but then, you are already in many ways are not important. except as a irritant.

Carl: I have never even heard of “Good Night, Sleep Tight”. I have played trombone since grade school (and picked up a few other instruments along the way) plus I still play in two community bands. Care to guess my age?

My Dad insisted that “The Rock & Roll Waltz” and “Rock & Roll Around the Clock” etc were making fun of the older generation. My folks were horrified at Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show. There goes the country! Hmmmm

“Pluggers are fast becoming irrelevant.” Palpably untrue, my dear fellow. After all, you’re obsessed with them.

I’d much rather listen to music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s instead of a lot of that nonsense they play these days . . . and I’m 43 years old. By the way, Elvis and The Beatles ROCK (I even like a little bit of John Denver too)!!!
