You’re telling me. I live in Sunny Isles and one of my home boys lives in Naples. His property taxes are lower than mine! They’re gonna raise my taxes by as much as 7% to make up for lost revenue due to the housing crash.
No, California was screwed long ago by Republicans and is falling apart, because they can’t raise taxes on property until it changes hands. Completely and totally unfair. It means the whole state needs to be run on income and sales, and it’s a disaster. My parents did okay, though — they bought 40 years ago and never moved. Sorry, suckers!
