@Night-Gaunt49 (from yesterday): What is the context of your Uyghur character. The Uyghurs may not achieve independence, but they should preserve their autonomy and become the majority of Xinjiang Province as they are not bound by the one-child policy. I’ve written a fantasy-fiction book called “The Promise of Bisibi.” It’s self-published and I can’t get many people to read it, even when they buy it.

@MHIC DHU GHAILL: The Uyghurs are an ethnic group in Xinjiang Province, China who are Moslem and speak a Turkic language and use the phonetic Arabic alphabet to write in their language rather than Chinese pictographs. In 1948 they numbered 98% of the population of Xinjiang but because of Han (majority Chinese ethnic group) migration, are now less than half the population. Like your ancestral Celtic language, the Uyghur language is also suppressed. I’m not Uyghur, but I love their music and because I know Turkish, I can speak a little of their language.

I’ve made 2 trips to see the Uyghurs in Xinjiang as well as a trip to the Uyghur diaspora in Kyrgyzstan. Their weddings are fantastic!

@NIGHTGAUNT49: I sounds interesting. I’m sure in that many years, our descendants will have evolved into something else. Perhaps we won’t even have bodies with earthly needs.

My self-published fantasy fiction novel is about a family who have green hair, blue skin (I made this up way before “Avatar” came out) and purple eyes settle on an island and multiply. Along come Italian, French and Portuguese planters who combine into “Bianchi” and bring with them African slaves. Along come Scotsmen who intermarry with one of the aboriginal clans; then come the Dutch and Germans who combine to form Frieslandians. There is much intermating/intermarriage and intrigues through the generatiions.

Out of 100 copies, I have about 80 copies left and must sell them out of my home. For many years I was warned that people who self-publish will be left with a pile of books, but I wanted this story, which I began writing 50 years afo, when I was a teenager, to be my legacy.
