Wildcat is going to end up at A.A. meetings with the mother of that golfer in the summer story.

Nothing like catching the game on the wireless (which Wildcat bought when he got out of the service in 1955), listening to Moon’s play-by-play and sipping on some 10-year old scotch.

Gee, I wonder with all this drama if Milford will win this week?

Marty Moon’s booster brother might appear to be giving Wildcat the cold shoulder now, but I am pretty sure that listening to the Milford-VT game on a 30 year old radio while sipping Bourbon did not appeal as much as seeing Tolan cuddle up to a his lifelike, minature Milford Doll in P3.

I smell victory! With Brody Abro pounding in PAT’s. I can’t believe WC will miss MyBobby’s last game.

Wildcat is a sourpuss. What kind of Dad wouldn’t support his child in an activity?

Maybe LittleBobby can go Lou Groza ( Cleveland Browns OG/PK) and kick the winning field goal as time expires. Jack Berrill originally created Milford as an Ohio town, so I guess when Urb Meyer found out Gil wasn’t ousted he took the Ohio State job. Urb would have upgraded the thug ratio on the team and brought some victories to make BILL happy.

Okay, the odds of Milford winning the last game have to be about 99% now. How will this last game unfold?

    a) Brody wins a close game with a last second FGb) Milford blows out VT and Brody makes multiple FGs (including one long one)c) Milford loses for a winless season, but Brody hits 50 yard field goal, becomes popular, elected Homecoming King

I hope it’s “a” — that’s what I’ve been waiting all season to see. And lol Uncle Kaz, it’s Tolan bobblehead day!

I’m for a). It’s been a long season of taking little steps to the big moment. Gil’s man skills came out at the Booster meeting. Now his coaching skill should come out in a single moment with the kid he helped most this year.

    d) Brody kicks winning FG, celebrates like Grammatica, sprains knee

    e) drunken Bill steals ball, is clotheslined by Kaz, game cancelled since they broke his freakin’ neck

That’s not liquor Wildcat’s drinking …. it’s poison. He can’t face life anymore after failing to oust the evil Thorp.

I vote for choice A. Milford wins a close one, although the return of two starters, in addition to a great kicker makes me think a blowout is possible. Still, I’m sticking with A.

    I’m voting for “a”.

I salut one and all for the great slapnuttery on the comments today. This board has gotten a lot better during this story line.

I incurred the wrath of a coupla folks on this board a coupla weeks ago for one of my posts. I was trying to import some inside jokes from the old Chicago Tribune Thorp blog and folks didn’t understand my references to “jerks”, “salut”, etc. Someone posted that I must be a “newbie”…however, I’m a 20 year Thorp veteran and have been part of the Tribune blog for well over 10 years.

Believe me…when I call you guys “jerks”, it’s a compliment of the highest order in all things Thorpian from the Tribune.

I vote for a modified “C”……Milford is getting blown out, Gil sets up Brody for a meaningless 20 yard FG with seconds left….he misses but Gil uses it as a “teaching moment”. Brody is carried off the field while Marty pukes quietly on the floor of the Tinderbox….
