Hey, short fat people can be smart, and handsome and kind and generous…. but Burl wouldn’t be those things if he were 6’2" and fit into 32" slim cut jeans.
Do you think he was actually trying to be funny, or he thought maybe people were buying the tip-toe act?
It’s not impossible that he was making a joke — he does zing Ma and Jerry now and again…. but always at their expense.
It’s the self-deprecating nature of his remark that’s such a shock — would he do that?It boggles the mind.

Total Wine had a sale on spirits last week so I got some Goldwasser, Cointreau, Benedictine and major Kalua to drink mixed with Presidente Brandy- great for this chilly weather. I’d as soon drink cough syrup as Kirschwasser;-( and even the others are only good with brandy added. Burls meeting is curious; he actually seemed to amuse his coworkers. De gustibus etc.
