Thank you RSR. I missed the bird until you mentioned it. Not much of a cartoon without the bird.

it only works if you don’t have to explain what this american dream is supposed to be…?filthy rich by age 30? a house, 2 ex-wives, 2 kids, 2 cars, and 2 mortgages by age 32? retire BEFORE age 62 with a full income, and no debt? just having something to retire to, someday (if the sociable security ponzi scheme doesn’t collapse—bernie, where are you when we need you?)!

And if you think either party can really bring the economy back then I do have a small island to sell you…this is a long haul back in the global downturn. You could retire in Greece, think your money would go further there.

If you think the American Dream cannot be achieved, get out of the way of those who don’t believe it.

And it’s salt water, and it’s polluted! It’s also filled with sharks.

Just spoke with my wife’s broker, she was talking about how the economy tanked: in 2008 folks!!! Gardeners know the difference between perennials and annuals. If you invest, or write bad rules, regarding perennials, you don’t see either the gain, or loss, right away. Trying to blame an annual for the impacts on a perennial, isn’t wisdom in the garden, or the market.

And you though two wars and tax cuts for the rich didn’t come with a price? Then you MUST be a Republican.

Midterm elections just don’t provide incentive enough to vote. Unfortunately. Righties will do it because they know a lot of Dems won’t. But when the year is divisible by 4, and everyone votes, I don’t think Republicans will do well, again.

So – we wonder how we got here… same people, same comments, same rebuttles, same finger pointing, same excuses, same system, same problem – And then we wonder how we got there…

I missed the bird too. It’s draw so at first glance, it looks like part of the tree. You don’t see it until you look harder. Apt.

@Jack, yeah, and America is doing sooooooooooooo well. Hey I wondering who’s bailing out Greece? Oh yeah, it’s socialist Germany! Because like most European countries it has lower unemployment than you do. Tell me again how sociialist Europe is failing?

@Howgozit, you’re forgetting that it was Bush and the Republicans that drove the boat on the rocks in the first place. It was the GOP which doubled the national debt before Obama took office. It was the GOP who deregulated the US into a financial crisis. Your primary complaint is that Obama isn’t fixing your mess fast enough.

@cswprague, if you think Frank and Dodd caused the financial crisis while serving in minorities? Just how did they manage that? Yeah, that’s right, blame the party which WASN’T in charge at the time.

There are no more new regulations under Obama than under Bush. Taxes are also lower. You conservatives need to spend more time in the real world. Also, it’s worth noting that the European “socialist” countries, with all of their trouble, have better employment than the U.S. with it’s thirty-year experiment in distributing income upwards to the wealthiest. They also have better health care outcomes, lower infant mortality, and much better retirement and vacation options. Attacking the workers, so far the only thing the Republicans will accept, is unlikely to improve matters here much.
