The purpose of government is to protect the opulent rich from the masses. Allowing the rabble into the streets is a dangerous precedent that could lead to the common man having a real say in the Government. This must be prevented at all cost least we have an “Arab Spring” of our own.
itś a comic. laff at it. if you see the images on the news, the last thing anyone is going be is frightened by the so-called oppressed masses eating cake on wall street. if anything, theyŕe just confirming their former employers decision to can them, and ensuring noone watching them will Ever hire them…thus making their self-inflicted agony permanent.
Bilgog, one of three possible reasons…1. They don’t know the adjective form of the word democracy. 2. Too stupid to know the correct name. 3. They are childish…
@cwspragueWhat has Obama done? Get the 1994 GOP health care bill (that guarantees profits for the insurance leeches) passed? Get a stimulus bill half as big as needed in the first place with half of that diverted to more “job-killing” tax cuts for the wealthy? Let the Bush-Cheney war criminals off scot free and keep their wars simmering"? Let the banksters who crashed the economy off too? Send Bush’s “job-killing” FTAs unaltered for Congressional approval? That you don’t like all this stuff portends badly for what you’d actually like to see the government do. And btw, right there in the preamble, along with “provide for the common defense” which your type always remembers, it lists “promote the general Welfare.” It also doesn’t limit securing “the Blessing of Liberty” to only the wealthiest, and calls for the establishment of “Justice,” not merely a legal system. No doubt you see “insure Domestic Tranquility” as a synonym for repression of dissent, but wiser folks realize that means creating a nation with real opportunity for ALL. If you read any history besides the cartoon tea bag version you’d know that the Founders purposely increased the power of the central government after the debacle of the Articles of Confederation (which the GOP acts as if is still the law of the land). That’s what “form a more perfect union” meant. And you’d know that the greatest prosperity the world has ever seen came about because of the New Deal you hate so much (and that the top 1% from the Du Pont brothers to the Koch brothers has been rolling back since WWII ended). Time to restore it and finish implementing it. When the Occupy protesters get down to brass tacks (without beheading too many bankster scumbags, I hope), I believe they’ll find FDR’s Economic Bill of Rights to their liking.
If you want to know what socialism is , study the life of Eugene V. Debs. If you are unwilling, then shut up. The Democratic Party is no more socialist than the Conservative Party of Great Britain. You are really of the rails if you think that. Most of us would wish for a political leader of the calibre of Eugene Debs.
Which comments are you referring to, and where can one find them? The only recollection I have of Obama’s remarks about the mosque reflected that they have the rights under the Constitution to build one on their own property. The President, as political leader, really has an obligation to remind people of the fact that we have freedom of religion in this country if people choose to ignore or deny it.
Anyone has a right to build any religious building anywhere they wish on their own property. Stating that fact is NOT “promoting religious establishment”. “Promoting religious establishment” means passing laws that make a religion, the practice of a religion, or certain religious beliefs part of the law of the land. For example, for many centuries, European countries prohibited Jews from holding public or government office. You had to profess to be Christian to hold any position that was paid by the government, and in some cases it had to be the correct variety of Christianity. Even today, the heir to the throne of England is forbidden by law to marry a Roman Catholic because of the enmity between the Roman Catholics and the Church of England. Those are just two examples of laws that “establish religion”.
Sorry billdog, I watch Fox News (please learn how to spell) and haven’t heard them say anything that the Dems are run by socialists. You see that would offend the scores of democrats on their payroll. Wise up.
Any undereducated a$$ who wholy thinks democrats and socialists have ANY likeness probably was home-schooled.Anybody who thinks Koch’s TParty, which he founded, and funded with oil stolen from poor dumb Indians and moeny made fromdealing with enemies of the US is patriotic doesn’t know what sedition and subversion are and how deeply involved in ti they are…Guillotines! Guillotines! Guillotines!
YOU jerks think that evil only takes place BELOW your social station…it’s OK to rip off the world’s economy, but you’re really glad to hurt a girl who got preggers by a rich Ivy kid…it’s OK to ship jobs overseas and starve Americans, but you’re really tough on poor people who have as much guts as your great-great-grandpa did and CAME HERE any way at all…cowards…wealthy knaves…Robin Hood was a liberal, so was the Lone Ranger, and so am I…and I say, guillotines…end the mean-ness, kill the cruelty…GOTP delenda est…

Sure we have…if you choose to beleive what you hear on right-wing extremist radio instead of what you see with your own eyes.
And are you ever going to answer my question about why you think the Dems are Nazis?
( For those not in the know, he always refers to the Democrats as the Democratic Natonal Socialist Party )
Better get used to it Saruman, this question isn’t going away.In facrt, it wouldn’t suprise me if a whole bunch of other people start demanding an answer to that question from you, every time you post.

@comix2000: Sure they could all get jobs, the ones that the wallstreet “job makers” created, but they’d need to move to China and the Phillipenes.
