Folks, here in Texas everyone pays taxes. There is an 8+% sales tax that covers everything except certain foods. Even if you are unemployed, you pay those taxes. And, even worse, you only get a small deduction for those taxes.

Wish the people complaining about how the poor pay no taxes would understand that “No Income” equals “No Tax”. The working class has been in a class war since Reagan took the oath. They are just now realizing it. Go look at historical income distribution in the U.S. & tell me where you think this is going…

are you sure trickle up doesn’t work ? I mean if you have a general populace that’s well off you find it’s easier to make money in a market where there are more potential customers…

when you say profit from their returns are you talking about tax refunds (isn’t that where you’ve over paid during the year and are getting back some small portion of the money you paid in taxes (deducted from your income ) ?

Hey, Grey! If you get blown up enough times you get VA comp and pension, and pay no taxes on that! Oh, right if you have sales tax, I guess you ARE taxed even on that slight “income”. But if you’re super-wealthy, or “connected”, you never had to consider that “income option”, like so many of those “taxed enough already”, like Cheney and his friends the Koch brothers.

You then also wouldn’t be those unemployed vets hiding in the shadows, trying to get by in the economy that “Bush built” and then ran back to Dallas, not that icky small-town part of Texas and the “ranch”.
