Someone keeping a tally of which strip is realistic or not, sounds like a crazy person to me. :-P

I don’t count the realistic strips, but this is the funniest one of the year.

You’d think Armstrong would have put a pouch of PipeTobacco visible somewhere in today’s strip.

Once again, I miss the Comics.com way of doing comments, so one could be notified via email of responses. That let us carry on a sort of conversation. As is, one would have to just keep reopening each strip page where one thought there might be an interesting response, and who has the time and desire to do that constant monitoring for each one?

[Year long tally: 28 Nonsensical : 219 Realistic] Thank you Robb for today’s realistic and funny comic!! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I hemmed-and-hawed about how to evaluate this strip for a long time. I mean, who realistically, would behave like Joe and say all comic strips are unrealistic?!? But, in the end I gave today’s effort the “realistic” stamp. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Truth be told, I am very flattered that my efforts here have been mentioned twice now. I think and believe that Robb knows my tally is designed to show the sincere appreciation I have for his comic writing and drawing talents. I have always appreciated the real humor he is able to find in the day-to-day. And, as we draw near to Fall, I can see that the number of nonsensical strips (aka items like when Snoog-A-Boo stole a painting or some such thing) this year is quite low, hovering a few points above 10%. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++So, once again, Robb…. thank you for your tremendous comic talents! And, I thank you for having such a good character as Joe’s Dad occasionally adopt a persona that in a way models my efforts here.

And once again, Robb Armstrong reminds us, in his own words, “the pen is mightier than the keyboard!” Love it!

Excellent! You not only set a fine example for humanity in your treatment of this subject, but a fine example for those who would like to be a PROFESSIONAL artist like yourself. We should all have a professional critic.
