If your leaving Hobbes home alone when he is hungry lock up all the tuna.

Diet? Resturant? = a contradiction in terms. On the other hand, if Hobbes manages to order a tuna fish sandwich from that super fast sandwich delivery joint and Calvin’s parents discover the remains after they get home things are going to get interesting again….

Yes, Dad handled this right. He could have said “Don’t be ridiculous; he’s just a stuffed animal” but that would have started a protest. This way, it looks like Calvin is going to go along peacably without Hobbes.
