Pig: Hey there, Rat. Today is 'Opposite Day.' Where all the stuff in our strip turns out the opposite of how it normally does. Want to participate? Rat: No. Get lost, loser. Noise: CRACK. Pig: Things are different on 'Opposite Day.'
Genuinely surprised. I’m thinking about making the last line my late 1980’s action-hero catchphrase.“You lose, evil dictator. Things are different on Opposite Day!” (U.S. flag unfurls in background for no reason)
Today Rat gets served a helping of Pig’s knuckles, and throughout the land there is a great chanting of, “Hit ’im again! Hit ’im again! Har-der! Har-der!”
In the late 1970s, shortly after Garfield launched, Jim Davis went on a local Seattle talk show to plug his strip. He talked about cartoon violence and how the sound effect “POW!” was okay, but “CRACK!” is over the line. Let’s hear it for Pastis, breaking another comics barrier, not to mention a bone or two.
YESS!!you new guys wouldnt understand!the oldies have been trained to wish with all their might for rat to get punched,or put down,or incinerated, and NOW ITS HAPPENED,COURTESY OF PPIIIGG!!!!
