Best. Comic. Strip. Ever. Not just the best Doonesbury, but the best, period. But don’t worry, Chester, you only have to live in your car till October 21.

…or you could click on the “Collectible Print” link on the right. Once there, click on the comic to view it larger.

I had to use the same trick as with Cul de Sac – go to the right where they’re selling prints, and click on that, then enlarge it.

    Love the punchline!

I had to go elsewhere to see the strip, too. I wonder if Gocomics appreciates the irony of the first Doonesbury collection being titled Still A Few Bugs In The System?

PSA for people not getting their strip via e-mail: CHECK YOUR SPAM FOLDER AT THE WEB INTERFACE. I found nearly a month’s worth in there.

It’s not just Chester, think about the the egg on Camping’s face. For him, it just about was the “end of times”. He had a stroke recently. If he can hold on until Columbus Day, he should be OK, by his calculations.

Well, people were complaining about not being able to zoom the Sunday strips….As Oscar Wilde said, there are only two tragedies in life. One is not getting what you want. The other is getting it…

I checked several newspapers – in some “this feature is not available” in others Doonesbury appears as usual. In the past certain papers have censored Doonesbury our of fear of back lash because of the theme. Is Go Comics engaging in censorship? Today’s strip deals with the fact that the world did not end on May 21. It is ironic, a bit sad, and very witty.

For Apple users: I just saved it on my iMac by holding down the Control key while clicking the image and choosing that from the drop-down menu. The saved image can be viewed with Preview which has a negative Zoom (shrink) feature.

Right click, and choose “Open Strip in New Window” in order to see it small enough to read.

(For me, it’s so huge that the name reads as “Doon” and only a tiny bit of the left hand panels are visible.)

I thought that the Rapture happend, but nobody was called. Then they had a debate in New Hampshire to find the Antichrist. Apparently the Last Days are going to take a while.

It is noted that, although certain people have had no trouble seeing this strip, for others, it has been simply blank.

Those of us who could see the strip are truly sorry that you weren’t raptured with us. Just in case, I wouldn’t buy a lot of winter clothes…*

Further noted: if my tongue were any further in my cheek, I’d starve to death. And on a serious note regarding the radio preacher’s guesstimate about the end of the world, google ‘Millerites’ (did YOU know the world ended in the 1840s??) for a remarkably similar example— to the point that one of the Millerite’s names was Campbell.

For those who are Christians and perhaps worried that Harold Campbell might know what he’s talking about, you might google his name— he’e been ending the world for years. For those Christians who look forward to a normal length of life, remember what Jesus said about false prophets*, and that His return would be at the time least expected, rather than most preached on the radio.[*or profits…]

Oops—- that’s Harold Camping, not Campbell, on the radio ministry. Living in Portugal, I’m happily out of radio range…
