    It is interesting that the floods are just another example of our wiping out the “natural world” for short term profit, coming back to bite us on the butt. Wildlife and fisheries have indeed been severely harmed by our stupidity, but hey, who care? They’re just “animals”, and “habitat”, not nearly as important as casinos, strip malls, and strippers to our “economy”.

    Interesting that pre-Katrina, the casinos were restricted to being on boats, they couldn’t build them on shore. After Katrina, they allowed them to build on “solid ground”, now they’re flooded out instead of just raising anchor and hawsers to float on the river—

    If the “Swirly’s” of the world, or the Corps of Engineers had any knowledge of (or acknowledged) how the “natural world” works, or how counter-productive so many “human activities” are, the world would be a better place.
