Sort of like shooting yourself in the foot only with snowballs and time travel.
Or is this a remake of the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey? I guess it makes more sense with a dog.

Sometimes this sort of thing helps. Some people write a letter to someone who haunts them and then burn it up. Now Rover should chase the “past” far, far away.
