Isn’t it more usually called “Nessun dorma”? From Puccini’s “Turandot”? The Pavarotti version is truly electrifying.

On a good day, I can sing G above middle C, but Nessun dorma calls for an A and a B, so the thought of reaching those notes almost brings me to tears. I can reach a low C (below the bass clef), so I shouldn’t complain except that the tenor almost always gets the girl. On the other hand, we bases get to growl on all of those great low notes.

I couple weeks back I was shopping with some friends and mention the Mellow Yellow song (we were getting Mellow Yellow from the soda fountain at the time) and one of my friends couldn’t get the song out of his head for several minutes.

I still have a Kingston Trio 33 RPM with that one on there (along with “Sloop John B”, “Scotch and Soda”, etc.)
