That’s some really wet snow to stick that well or is it more like ice after they went through the stream. I’ve decide they’re Calvin and Hobbesicles! I had my Mom’s old wooden sled with the metal rails on the bottom growing up but it only worked in well packed snow. My favorite in the snow was a metal saucer. It went down the hills really fast and far while spinning around. It took my breath away and made me dizzy at the same time. Hours of fun sledding on a Sunday afternoon with my cousins and the neighborhood kids!

    ENFP Calvin 1, INFJ Hobbes 0. :))

(At least that’s my best guess…Hobbes seeming to be a manifestation of Calvin’s unconscious self, and also of his conscience.)

We used to use old cardboard boxes to slide down our hill: then our mum realized we looked poor, and spent some $ on one real plastic flying saucer. We used to race the saucer against the cardboard anyway.

We often looked just like Calvin and Hobbes after our runs.

Don’t worry Hobbes, you’ll arrive at the crash site 10 minutes before the paramedics get there.

risk has it’s rewards. But mostly for young people.. ..to succeed in something dangerous , one simply must be able to shut out all realization of the peril you have put yourself into. as you get older and wiser one tends to recognize the possible consequences of one’s actions…

Dino you lived a great life and your childhood and what great stories. Evan talking about your grandkids is fun to read. It’s a wonder how Calvin has survived growing up. Too bad he never really had a friend. I know its a cartoon strip.

Being crazy is easy… Once you get over the fear of dieing! A fact I found easier to convince myself of when I was young. and naive enough not to get lost in all the details.

Reminds me of the bumper sticker that reads:

“If you don’t like the way I drive, stay off the sidewalk!”

Even with a layer of snow you can read the expression that each of them has; what a fun challenge that must have been.

CALVIN: “You should be glad we’re alive.” He’s always looking on the bright side of life.

How lucky Calvin was to have been a child before the liberals banned childhood, made it illegal to go outside the house without a helmet and body armor, and illegal to let your kid go out and play without a body guard.

We loved using those giant truck innertubes. They had a tendency of flipping over when 10 people piled on and then the one on the top became the 1 on the bottom and the snow was like sand paper on the face!

By the way… the sled ride at least is safer than those wild wagon rides. At least the rocks are somewhat covered in snow!
