Shika, when a hurricane hits or tropical depression, it’s something we can plan for. The year Ike hit, I packed up my computer and headed to Dallas for a few days until I got the all clear from the plant to go back. During, the tropical depression, I worked from home.
The year Ike hit, there was a winter storm front going through the day my Boss and I were packing it in for the Christmas holidays. We did go to work for a planned half day, which naturally, was just about when the storm just starting to hit the Pasadena area. I had to stop at Macy’s on the way home and when I got out, there was already a couple of inches of heavy wet snow on my windshield. I cleaned it off and decided that I was going to avoid the overpasses on the way home. As I headed south along Highway 3, the snow fall began to thin out until it eventually stopped altogether.
Eventually we did get about 2 inches or so in the League City area, but Pasadena and some other points north of Houston got 6 or more inches. Of course, it all melted before we got to Christmas Eve even.
Cuddles and Fluffy. Hhhmmm. I have a theory that dogs and cats name their offspring, which names they go by with each other. So while I may know my 65-pound Rottweiler mix as Kewtie-py, his friends know him as Doug, and sympathize with him when I’m outside shrieking “Kewtie-py, din-din time.” ;-)
We’re right about where Cuddles is standing…the spot between his feet (a town called Mashpee). It was a nice, warm, sunny day today…hope that weather continues!
Happy depending on how far past the Applachians the front moves, we could have a wintry mix this week. I must say, we haven’t had a frost yet, but I must get in the rest of my tomatoes and peppers, hopefully tmr. I won’t feel like doing it on Monday when I get home from work.
I am heading over to my DailyInk queue and catch up there, and then I am going to bed. It’s been quiet all around the board today, I have noticed. Good night buddy!
