This was written way before “The Hurt Locker” would lay the horrors of war bare…

Isn’t it odd how we all know that war is a terrible thing, but the most popular video games are war games, the highest grossing movies are war movies, and some of the most popular toys for children revolve around war?

    WAR! F%&# YEAH!

I really should see Red Dawn one of these days. It’s become something of a pop culture meme of late. I was in grade school when it came out (not to mention I was a girl), so that one passed me by.

Top Gun I’ve seen a million times because my sister had a Tom Cruise thing going on. Rambo? Stallone? Meh.

Thanks for the info, I found ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ quite disturbing as well. Also, I offer these most damnable words by Dennis Hastert,” War has a kind of dark beauty."I see ’dark beauty’ nowhere synonymous with HIDEOUSLY UGLY!!!!!

“It is well that war is so terrible – otherwise we would grow too fond of it.”

W.T. Sheman’s words were more like " When you hear about the glory of battle, don’t believe it boys, for it is all HELL!
