Opus, don’t shoot the tv, go down to the station and shoot the manager there instead

Couldn’t agree more with Opus. Censorship is an ugly thing.

    @ sandfan

While agreeing with you in principal, remember that the same message is shown for changing the wide-screen cinema formats into the then-contemporary TV screen format.

However, I am certain that there are laws about aquatic antipodean fowl bearing arms but I lack the time to do the proper research.

If it was just censorship, I could deal with it. They hack up the movies to fit the time they’ve allocated and still show commercials 50% of the time. Then they over-shoot part of the screen so they can tell you about the other movies they’re going to butcher.

I don’t even watch movies that have commercials anymore. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has noticed that the frequency of commercial breaks pick up toward the end of a flick when the climax is being approached. Man, I hate that………

Opus is one of the funniest comic characters ever drawn. Even just sitting in front of a TV set!

Since we don’t like the commercials, wouldn’t the people who place the commercials also not like them when watching TV at home? It seems so obvious.

Yes Opus is one of the funniest comic characters. I used to fine Opus and Bill the Cat greeting cards. Great stuff.

    AMEN OPUS OL’ BUDDY!

Worst words in the English Language. Edited for television, and to run in the time allotted. And the worst, FORMATTED TO FIT YOUR SCREEN.

I’m with Opus; when I’m watching an all-time classic like Flesh Gordon (which I have on DVD), I don’t want anything cut out.
