i dont think i will do many, if any outdoor this year.indoor will be a bit subdued. but there will be something.i have two large picture windows on the street side of the house.i will decorate the windows, and that will do for most of my outdoor decour…
happy, a lot of the people around here decorate the roofs of their houses.. Even if mine was only a single story house, I would not decorate the steep roof. I just decorate my bushes and the windows facing the street from the indoors. But I am rather elaborate. I don’t have a large tree, but I’ve got 4 indoor small trees.
no cut tree.no good space for one.the one i am putting up has optic fiber lights built in.honestly, its just a frame to hang the decorations on.i may do a live, or cut tree sometime in the future.no it would just be to much of a hassle.
We had our dinner around 2 pm, then around 4 my sons and I played a long and rousing game of Uno! Hubby didn’t want to play but we had fun. Watched some old ALF’s. My oldest was about 3 when ALF debuted and he would stand in front of the tv set and dance to the theme music. It was so cute! Now he gets this look on his face when I say to him “You know what I’m going to say don’t you”? He gives me this “OH MOM”! look! I still have his ALF toy with all the stuffed animals I saved when they were little. Their favorites.
We also watched the football games while we were playing cards. Nice day. Holidays are great for things like that, because you make the time to do family things.
No one need to chop down a tree for me, Fellow Baby. Mine are artificial and I never have to take the decorations down. Just bag ‘em and store ’em. Save’s me a lot of time at a time when there’s plenty to do. And I worry a little less about the possibility of in-house fires.
Well since the Patriots appear to have the game well in hand going into halftime, I think I’ll turn in rather early. I doubt the Jets can come up with 35 or more points in the second half.
I want to get a couple more Heart tapes under my belt tomorrow.
got mom to bed.i am not paying much attention to the game, so i am probably going to channel surf.i may even turn it off and turn the radio on.im trying to regain my ability to sit still and read.i may pick up my book.i may just give up and quit for the night.i dont know…
I’ve just retired my second artificial tree. Got the first when I started work — between them they represented 40 years of Christmas tradition and I didn’t have to kill anything to get it!
I’m late because I am working on a presentation for Monday. Then a book report for the following Friday. It’s a busy time for me. It’s a good thing that we’ve already HAD Thanksgiving! :-D
From the sounds of it, everyone here has had a good day. I thought of you happy. I know that you do your best to remain positive,
I’ll bet your tree looks lovely when you finish it. Although I love to look at a real tree, I prefer it to be still rooted in the ground. Our cottage was near a Christmas tree farm. I have many happy memories of picking blackberries among them.
I have a table top artificial tree with snow on it. I decorate that each year and it looks great. I’ll post a picture of it. Maybe as my avatar. It is sweet, and all the decorations are antique or handmade.
My mom made a ceramic tree decades ago in a pottery class. It is all white with iridescence and has tiny blue lights that you put in holes. I call it my “winter tree”. It goes up after the twelve days of Christmas are done and stays up until the snow is gone. Very pretty.
Good Night StelBel, Grog, Dry, happy, sugie, chefwen, JP Steve, x_tech, jkiss, nighthawks and six* Also cleo- where is he? Anyone I missed is included too. If you are a fan of Citizen Dog, you are welcome here.
Well the day is done and dinner was wonderful. We have spent the last 20 years going to both sides of the family for both holidays. It was so nice to have a break and stay home. I made my mom’s dressing recipe and my first pumpkin pie. Both came out faily well for a first try.I love fresh trees but my hubby is allergic. The poor guy suffered through our first Christmas together before he told me. This year I will be purchasing our 3rd artificial tree.Good night kids. I hope you all have peaceful dreams.

the bad part of not having your own turkey, is you dont have the “frame” to put into a stock pot…

Well, my Tur-Duc-Hen was awesome, but I’ve found the games to be highly indigestible.
