Cathy: I'm not driving across town!! Mom: Not the 15-ounce can! We only need 12 ounces! Cathy: My time is more valuable than three ounces of mashed pumpkin! Mom: Two cooks can't share the same kitchen. Cathy: They also can't share the same list, cart or supermarket.

Sounds like Mom is a product of the Depression. My mom used to stress out about the pennies saved, which I agree can sometimes add up. But when you spend more in gas and time to save those pennies, then it’s not worth it.
