And then they mess up and you get to raise their kids.

A friend of my mother’s once asked her how she felt now that her children had grown up and gone away. My mother just laughed and said, “What do you mean ‘gone away’? They’re over here all the time!”

Nevertheless, I think it was less stressful for my parents than when we were small. They didn’t have to raise us - we were already raised, and we and our parents communicated like adults (well, almost - a parent is a parent, after all, no matter how old you are).

My parents love it when we visit! Our relationship is so much better now that we’re all out of the house! Just remember what goes around, comes around. They’ll get their turn someday. ;)

I was puzzled by the musical notes on the top right of the third panel, but I think it’s Andy playing his music very loud. Everyone else is accounted for, one way or another, in that panel.

Except - where’s gramma? and the dog?

Some of the comments reminds of Bill Cosby show when kids get older and leave the nest then come back. Here at our house we gained another mouth but that person is not lazy at all and does work. Where as our son can’t get anywhere. I still like SS.
