Yes, that needy child racket is just a part of the vast liberal conspiracy to bring socialism to the American scene. I know this because a Republican told me so.
If every starving child’s need is a moral claim on you, then you’ll soon get either a long lifetime of guilt or or a short lifetime of starvation yourself.
(Phillip: It’s not liberal, it’s altruist, and both Dems and Repubs suffer from it. And the natural political expression of it IS socialism, but it’s out in the open, not a conspiracy.
BTW, I like the 2-L’s. No historical justification, but a nice individualizing touch.)
