I’m twelve, though the body is sixty-six (and some mornings that’s easier than others!) But I’m twelve!

My old crazy girlfriend once told me that I lived like I would either live forever, or die tomorrow.

I thanked her effusively; that just what I’m shooting for!

Yep, I’m a 15 year old in a 64 year old body…I intend to mature when I find a good reason….with maturity comes grumpiness evidently….I don’t have time for that…

Today is all we have, tomorrow is not guaranteed.

Lucy has a lot of horse sense.

No wonder she depressed, she stuck as a kid unable to live out her dreams. Always as static cartoon child.

Danae’s logic is undeniable. Confusing, but undeniable.

Why do so many comments say she’ll grow up to be an axe-murderer or terrorist?

My bet is she’d become a best selling writer, host a talk show, or even become a cartoonist, all to share her askew viewpoint.

Olde kids at heart always rebel at younger kids. Danae resists Wiley’s attempt to mull over her direction.

Danae will grow up to be a severe neurotic on tons of Valium, and be a hermit.

The trick is to have both the judgment and maturity that comes from being a grownup and the enthusiasm, delight and curiosity that goes with being a child. On a good day I can manage this for as much as ninety seconds…

I can see the hermit part in some ways Submachine. She might become Unabomber II but I really don’t think she has the violent streak that would take.

I see her more as a Jim Jones/David Koresh type. She would really dig all the followers taking her orders and giving her lots of attention and respect.

Growing old is mandatory. Growing up is optional. Seize the day!!

I’ll be 58 in nine days. Someday I’ll grow up. Really.

It’s not what you have…it’s how you use it. It’s not what happens to you…it’s how you handle it. And if you can give your son or daughter only one gift, let it be enthusiasm. Bruce, I think Danae needs a HUGE dose of THAT!

Reminds me of the old joke:

she already knows her future, didn’t she right her autobiography already? lol! LOVE the strip! also, the only difference bewteen men and boys is the price of their toys….

Take my advice Danae, don’t grow up!!!

My late husband had a six year old boy living inside him. I got to see glimpses of that, occasionally.

Is this a forth wall moment for Danae? I wonder, if you knew you were going to stay this age forever. How long would it take for you to go insane from boredom? I would probably stop caring about my grades too if I knew I was never going to graduate from high school.

Every time I walk past a mirror, I wonder who that “old broad” is, because inside I’m Danae! Thanks Wiley, love it, especially the look on Lucy’s face.

My birthday is Saturday!

Puts me in mind of Pooh, who also just is.
