His insurance doesn’t cover it? Patch him and turf him to the street.

Right to free speech, right to arm bears, right of religious expression but no right to medical care? You can shoot your mouth off, shoot your foot off or shoot someone whose imaginary friend is different to yours but to be cared for when at your lowest ain’t our problem. Bizarre.

I have to laugh every time I think about the American health care system, it’s all about making money off the sick and injured…..hurray capitalism.

Yep - I’m now officially on the “Work Til You Die” plan. I can’t afford the health insurance if I retire.

Health Insurance is the enemy of health care. A doctor told me yesterday that of all the money spent on health care, about 1% goest to doctors (not that they’re suffering), and about 45% to insurance profit. Nice work if your morals will allow…

I wish we could go back to the what it used to be like in the 40’s thru the 70’s where doctor’s could make house calls and the price was easyer on all of us and the doctors and nurses really cared before the medical insureance and the government got involved in it, but with todays tech.

I would rather have an impartial bureaucrat deciding what is cost-effective than a health insurance executive whose salary and bonus depend on his minimizing expenditures while maximizing profit.

    It’s one or the other.

You have to shop for which company offers what you need. I never saw much use for prenatal and healthy baby care. Show me a plan with mental health and substance abuse. . I’m going to shop with more care than I would a car. I don’t want undercoating and a don’t want a rider for Sickle Cell Anemia. Custom wheel covers are not needed much like nutritional counseling. I would drive a few miles to save on a car, and I’ll drive a few miles to a preferred provider. Buy the first policy you see and don’t read it. That’s how you buy a car, right?

I’ve been in the hospital with a vent still in my throat told by the insurance company I was well enough to go home. After freaking out , some tears and some phone calls by a social worker they got me another week.

80% of the illnesses in 80% of us is due to 100% misbehavior, and we want everyone else to foot the bill. It is much cheaper to be responsible for our own health. We are our own worse enemies. Spoiled brats, we.

Lew, no one can afford to pay for their own health care, it’s just too expensive…I know millionaires who still work even though they don’t want too, because they just can’t afford it..At least $600 per person per month. That’s $24,000 for a family of four. And that doesn’t count the copay…If your employer doesn’t provide it, you just don’t have it, simple as that….

Weasel monkey.. all the rights you mentioned are either free or the person who exercises the right pays for it himself, such as spending his own money to buy a gun.

So why do you put the right to tax dollars paying for everyone’s health care? And the poor DO get their health care paid for. It is called the welfare system… medicaid to be more precise.

Folks have noticed that “Health insurance” and “health care” company CEOs are right up there with hedge fund managers and Bank CEOs on salary and bonuses, right? My doctor’s office has more “office staff” than nurses, to take care of all that paperwork the PRIVATE companies require. Sorry, but a “single payer” system, to keep seeing my same doctor, makes more sense. It isn’t the cost of the doctor, it’s the prescriptions and the paperwork.

Yeah I agree that we need to work on the actual care instead of insurance. Sadly, insurance is entwined with the care. This includes the government provided, as Tricare is a mess! I’ve known people who had to wait months for surgery due to their ‘free’ healthcare.

@odeliasimone: So you can mouth off and shoot someone and then, if they can’t afford health insurance, bad luck to them? Gee, your charity overwhelms me. I’d love to hear your feedback from your last visit to a medicaid clinic? I’ve believe it’s the best health care the third world can provide. Your taxes pay for your roads to everywhere so you can drive your monster truck two blocks to pick up the milk. They pay for your armed forces to invade any country with the natural resources required to keep you monster truck going. Yet you baulk at the idea of your taxes ensuring everyone around you is kept happy and healthy… says volumes about your priorities and explains why the US is no longer the 1st worlds poster child and ranks 4th in the world for gun crime. “Hey, I’m scared and don’t feel too good… but at least I’ve got this gun to make me feel better! BLAM, BLAM”

Hey, lets make up some more stats about illness and who gets ill. EarlW sounds like a real charmer. 100 % of us will die, so why do anything for anyone who can’t pay? How about abuse, children being raped by their Daddy, cancer in children, car accidents, yeah let ‘em suffer then die, they made the mistake of being born and living. We need healthcare, not insurance, Medicare for everyone! If you want more and can afford it, bless you. I want to know that the little one, or the poor one, or the old one gets care. This is the kind of society I want. And it’s all about me.

Deliver the mail. Build infrastructure. Find and kill terrorists.

If they can do those, then they can make sure that everyone gets basic health care. ‘Nuff said.

Do something on the secrecy of this President.

Obama, “I just paid off the federal debt! There is no balance on the national credit card! We can spend some more!”

Citizens, “Uh… can we see proof?”

Obama, [Snicker] “You don’t believe me? Fiiiine, here is a picture of the medal the World Bank sent me. Oh and nevermind those Chinese nuclear subs headed our way. They are just on training exercises…”

The part they haven’t revealed that there is a Soylent Green option! Turn 60, get rounded up, sent to a processing center where you get some great drugs, watch a peaceful movie, and then you are extinguished. Your body will be ground up into food bars to solve the world hunger problem. What a great idea.!!!!
