Wow, Flyface is dead–but what happened to Lizz? And the Fifth and Ed??

60sFan, I share those questions. Bill went to bed early tonight.

Now we know that Thor’s Hammer is dangerous. And if its flash was so dazzling outside the warehouse, what was it like on the inside?

What’s that on the floor by Flyface? Fried lice?

Fried flies more like. Guessing the Fifth and Ed are toast, too.

Great art today, and I love the way the perspective changed to Tracy and Sam to keep us hanging.

Sam is just lucky he hadn’t grabbed the doorknob yet. I think FlyFace actually had started to open the door before he was hit. Wonder what would have happened if he had opened it more?

I think Liz, Ed and The fifth are still alive. It will be a interesting battle coming up for sure!

Okay. Overall, definitely, VAST IMPROVEMENT over what we’ve been reading the last few years. But I’m getting a little lost here…how did these guys get pardons? What was the rally about? What’s their criminal scheme?

But again, I am so enjoying just reading forward motion and interesting art here.

Reading DT is like being starved to death and sitting down to a banquet and only being able to eat three bites before having to quit and wait for the next mealtime. You have tremendously enjoyed those bites but are hungry for more. I wish every day could be a Sunday sized strip.

Good analogy. But until recently, reading DT was like being starved to death and only being offered a cracker to eat. And you had to make the cracker last for a week.

We got our comic strip back guys.

But i have to say thank you to Locher, who at least kept the strip alive, rather than it being dumped.

But now lets move on with this comic.

I came over from a comics blog about a week and a half ago (absorbascon.blogspot.com, for those curious- probably the best comix blog on the net), and I have to say that I am really enjoying this strip so far.

I have a confession to make, though- I always thought Chester Gould probably got the inspiration for Tracy’s weird rogues’ gallery from Batman, thanks to Bob Kane and Bill Finger- but now I think it was the other way around. I’d also be willing to bet that Stan Lee was influenced by Chester Gould when he was coming up with Spider-man’s rogues (as far as being threatening and wanting to do in their nemesis).

….man, I’ll tell you folks, Flyface had some bad luck.Fried by THOR’S HAMMER & put on theNO FLY LIST, all on the same day…BA DUM BUMP TSSSHHH!!!!…..

Yeah, that “thing” is smoke rising from Flyface’s remains. And Lizz is most definitely alive.

As for jumbobrain’s questions, my guess is that the rally wasn’t about anything other than giving the Fifth and Flyface a legitimate cover for their activities. As others have suggested, I believe the government gave them protection so they could steal Thor’s Hammer from Diet Smith. And I suspect the Fifth intends or at least intended to double cross the government and keep Thor’s Hammer for himself and sell it to the highest bidder. Those are my working theories at least.

Someone Please turn Detective Dan off! He’s evidently on a roll here, and just too funny!

60sFan, Simple petty revenge could be the Fifth’s motive as well, at least as far as being stupid enough to risk blowing his immunity just to kill Liz.

Yeah, dwkiser28603. It is a SIG Sauer P226. Joe and Shelley have just recently been provided with some gun reference pics, so the images of guns should get better in a few months (they aren’t re-doing the panels already completed). All of the MCS members are equipped with the SIG Sauer P226. It is a pretty standard issue weapon for most police and military forces.
