phrenology,n. study that infers personal characteristic from the shape of the skull. I hate when a 6 year old kid is smarter than me.

Dont ask her for money up front, she looks a little up set. Crack the case then present her with the bill,or not.

From the LCARS aboard any UFP starship:

Calvin “Stupendous Man” Hobbes was the inventor of the Terran version of the holosuite. His immensity of imagination and his versatility of hand lent very well to the creation of this beloved piece of technology…

Corrupt probation officers who take money? When Calvin escapes into fantasy, he goes a long way.

@ironclad2001. It has always been my impression that the vocabulary is one way that Watterson let his readers know how smart Calvin was (is). And the flights of fantasy - like today - gave us a window into C’s marvelous imagination. A genius for sure! But not a quiet, nerdy, proper little whiz kid - a wild and crazy genius with all of that brain power and imagination trapped in a 6-year old’s body! :-)

Too true, Florchi – Calvin’s very intelligent. Often, that’s half his problem …

Looking forward to more Chauvin noir ..

I’m a little worried about that magnum bottle he keeps in his desk. A little too young for that. Actually, a little too young for the other magnum as well. 6 years old and already on probation and gambling!!!

Calvin’s been heavily influenced by some advanced reading material – I didn’t get into my dad’s Mickey Spillane collection until I was at least 13.

I called this one right flat on the money in my post yesterday. Boy, does she look like my mother looked, all too often. Love the clever puns in the previous panel - absolutely marvelous monologue - great stuff, especially Calvin’s name for his detective doppleganger - Tracer bullet = genius….

Tracer had a bottle. Mom is really mad and Calvin is losing something from his right hand like the back of a liquor bottle. You don’t suppose he got into the wet bar?
