Who gave him the shovel in the first place?? Where I live, Winter can last until the end of April and beyond. Right now we have -8 below 0, with a wind chill factor of -30 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Kind of hard to tell which one is the Spook and which is the groundhog.

Official word from Punxsutawney is that we will have an EARLY SPRING…we’ll see! Here in Montana it was -1 this morning in my neck of the woods, -13 yesterday…right now it’s 17 above. wow.

My Grandpa always told me if the groundhog saw is shadow, we’d have 6 more weeks of winter, if he didn’t see his shadow we’d have a month and a half more winter.

When I was a kid, living in the midwest, I never understood the groundhog stories where people would be sad that the groundhog predicted six more weeks of winter. I would be happy if there were ONLY six more weeks of winter.
