Mr. Lester, are you suggesting that the Democrats sold the Rump that budget?

It’s ALWAYS the Democrats’ fault, right Lester ? Even when Republicans control all three branches of government ? Oh sorry I forgot the “deep state” – my bad.

Get real Lester. That military budget which inflated it so much is welfare to the red states. Claiming this is a Democrat induced boondoggle is either a flat out lie or you are delusional.

Great cartoon! To understand the comic, you must be familiar with the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, which many commenters appear not to be. Here’s a quick synopsis:Jack’s mother sent him to sell the only family asset, the cow, and a shyster bought the cow for a handful of “magic” beans. His mother is very upset with him for his bad business sense, trading the cow for a few beans. See Wikipedia for the rest of the story. This is the relevant part to the cartoon.Lester is saying the democrats (donkey) are the shyster who deceived poor Jack (Trump) and his mother (Trump voters) is very upset.

I read an article that said Congress snuck in some Russian sanctions in that bill, it would serve Trump right if he had to enforce those sanctions on Russia… How would he explain it to his BFF Putin? If the military pentagon can lose or misplace millions of dollars that have gone unaccounted for in the last several years, why the heck should American taxpayers give them more money to misplace? It wouldn’t be so bad if the money had been used for the welfare of the military branches and their military families, but even when they’re trying to profit the military suppliers …. they keep misplacing those payments too. Magic beans don’t magically become a windfall of an infinite number of magic beans. As usual, our republican-controlled government has once again pushed through a Mega spending bill without the proper procedures of oversight or discussion on the floor the two legislative branches. We have a Republican president who cannot or will not read a bill before he signs it. They have no one to blame but themselves. Throwing Shade on the Democrats for this bill is really out of line, the Republicans who wrote this bill who should be the ones who are ashamed to be recognized as the authors of this devastating spending bill.

It seems to me that almost everyone above is missing the actual point of Lester’s cartoon. You’re so busy considering the cow, Democratic donkey, magic beans, and Trump that you overlook the real star of the cartoon – the woman with the rolling pin who represents the “Make America Great Again” voters who want to brain Trump.

The cartoon isn’t about the spending bill so much as it is about the reaction of Trump’s base. A point it makes brilliantly and, as usual, hilariously.

Lester has really lost it with his cartoon, not even close to reality.

Actually, the only part of the cartoon I don’t agree with is the donkey leading the cow (budget) away. How the conservatives think they can blame the Democrats for this disaster of a budget I don’t know. Then again, most of them live in a make believe world anyway.

Not to worry, Mike. Trump already said he was, you know, angry! about signing this budget and would never do it again.

And we all know what his words are worth, right?

And anyway, the tax cuts for the rich will stimulate growth so much, that in a couple years the national debt will all be paid off.

Magic beans are what the Republicans hoodwinked us with when they gave rich people a trillion and a half dollars of our children’s money.

Close on the magic beans, but that isn’t the Dems who bought that cow. The Republicans gave him those beans – which means they will only be magic for the rich.
