‘Job’ in this instance is pronounced ‘Jobe’.

Reg Smythe would never had made that mistake.

Could have told Andy that it was a story about a man who suffered from a long run of bad luck. But with faith, his luck changed. And at the end it was all good.

The Book of Job is pretty grim plus it makes for some difficult reading so it’s hard to imagine it being someone’s favorite.

No one alive now knows how words or names were pronounced 2,000 years ago, in any language.

Yep. That’s incorrect. It’s “Jobe”

But for all we know the vicar could simply be winding Andy up.
