Yeah, Never trust anyone over the age of 30. Ironically, I find myself part of the herd of fossils now.

It’d be more effective to ban corporate campaign contributions and so called “super pacs” and close up the gift loopholes so that the NRA and gun manufacturers couldn’t bribe Congress any more.

Or, at least, establish a “Minimum Ethics Limit” to run for Congress.

I’d rather see a set of competency requirements -- like any other job -- and a mandatory retirement age.

In order to do that, you must amend the Constitution to change what is in Article I, §1 on the qualifications to be Representative or Senator…just as you need to amend the Constitution to remove the right to keep and bear arms…you can’t simply “pass a law”, but don’t let that stop from being an ass about it….

The scariest sign our head-in-the-sand legislators never saw: “We’re 18 and we’re voting.”

If the requirements are going to be changed, “intelligence required” must be added.

You can bet the GOP will be putting an emergency bill on the floor to raise the voting age to 55. The thought of high-school kids pushing the old, tired, petulant fogeys out for new and inspiring ideas and goals from fresh minds has the dinosaurs in congress in fright-mode.

Considering that a third of Trump’s not-filled staff can’t get a complete security clearance, the politicians should have to have background checks and security clearances before they get on the ballot. We will find out about Trump’s Russian connections (already revealed by Jr. and Jared) long after the election after he has done so much damage. There should also be a test for their knowledge of the Constitution and whatever laws apply to their office. How many times has Trump said, “Who knew….?”
