The only good thing I could say bout him, is that he was not the worse one of the bunch.

My grandparents often spoke of Teddy Roosevelt’s disdain for “In god we trust” on currency (sacrilege) and were not happy about Graham’s persuading Ike to add the “under god” to the pledge of allegiance.

Too bad it isn’t like father, like son. Let’s see who sonny-boy invites to the funeral: every right-wing politician he can round up!

He was a successful con man. As stated above, an Elmer Gantry.

Billy once said “You’re born. You suffer. You die. Fortunately there’s a loophole.”

Graham will finely get to come face-to-face with that deity he served for so long and so well in the fiery furnaces that his deity presides over in the Underworld.

Sorry, but I have a difficult time having any respect for a televangelist. His politics were much better than his son’s are, but he was still a televangelist collecting money from the poor and elderly, who were looking for hope and salvation.

I don’t respect any “organised” religion. Especially the televised ones. The satellite TV services have too dam(n) many “Christian” channels. I see them after money and/or power. Elmer Gantry is a good comparison. Don’t get me wrong, there are quite a number of people that live by the word, but it seems about all you see are the ones that don’t.

In the next panel, we see God’s big hand slapping Graham out of heaven while singing “Get Off of My Cloud”.

I think everyone is missing the point. God’s hand is shown as being white, the same color as Billy Graham’s. I think that is a terrible assertion, even in the comic medium. It is an insult to every God believing person who is not white. God is not a person. He is not a color. He is divine, and without a personna. Making him white is an awful lack of tact, taste, and respect. PS. I am white.
