Some sisterly encouragement. I too am not much of a writer, but I have been thinking of writing some sort of book; a book of 100 haiku (got a few written so far, but it takes time to think of them).

She’s depressed? I’m 73 and just re-starting my novel.

Could be worse – she could have to be doing PowerPoints all day long to make a living. People just love to see PowerPoint slides, especially the ones with all the pretty colors and numbers on them….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz! Not exactly writing though.

I wonder how one gets a job writing brochures and training manuals.

Given the number of people who read these days, Joan should be comforted that more people probably read her brochures and training manuals than would ever read her novel.

Try working in other peoples homes.

At least you have the talent to keep your client’s happy.

Wait to write when you are old? Terrible advice. Write write and write. Don’t wait—-do it.
