So how many miles of hair is it per year? The next question concerning it is how old would you be to have 949½ kilometers of hair?

Yea, picking your nose like that might make it warm.

I’m skeptical of the hair thing. Figuring an average lifespan of 70 years, you would have to grow almost 8 1/2 miles of hair per year. I don’t think anyone is capable of that.

And the nose has been known to turn slightly red. It’s called the Pinocchio effect.

Re 8 1/2 miles of hair per year…maybe that’s each hair added together. Ask.com says:The average person’s head has up to 150,000 hair follicles (the entire adult body has 5 million). That would be about 2.8 miles for head hair if it grew a foot a year.

I wonder if the hair thing includes body hair (facial, underarm, leg, pubic, chest, back, nose, ear, etc)

We’ve had to tell quite a few whoppers lately with the weather we’ve been having. Now if only it worked for the hands and feet.

Someone screwed up. The average person grows 6 inches of hair per year.

Had a boss who, in nearly every conversation with our customer, would rub her nose at least once. She attributed it to allergies, but I knew better and warned her that the customer was catching on. She couldn’t seem to stop it. So afterward she glanced at me every time she rubbed her nose, as if to acknowledge, “yes, I know.”

That was amazing; nothing political in reference to the red nose. I am so proud of everyone.

Well I guess that means I’m definitely not an average person…

I’ve been losing hair since I was in my late teens and there ain’t much there these days. I stopped cutting what little is left a couple of years ago, and probably could have stopped sooner, as it hasn’t grown out even an inch in all that time.

On the plus side I saved a bundle while I was serving in the military… I got my hair cut every month or two instead of every week or two like normal folk.

So healthy dogs are honest.

I don’t believe it. There has to be a dimension unit error. It is more likely to be 590 inches which is 49 feet … giving about 8.5 inches per year for a 70-year lifespan.

Other sources give 4+ to 7 inches per year as an actual growth rate measurement.
