I think the strip is making a subtle reference to #MeToo. The female journalist instinctively supports the male journalist when President Rat crosses the line. This support is not reciprocated by the male journalist when Trump, er, Rat makes a sexual comment about the female journalist. Sad!
It’s called “sparring with the press,” and it has been the routine for as long as I can remember. What has changed is that the hostility of the press has become unthinking and visceral: they have become a pack of ravening beasts, out for blood (nothing less!)….
Forgot to comment here, I guess. Anyone who still doesn’t think Rat as the President is meant to satirize Herr Drumpf and still doesn’t think anyone of certain politics should not be allowed to comment here because this is not a political strip?
