Politician: Hello evil deficit! Watch out! We have to make hard choices! It's time to get serious and stop playing games! Man: Shouting at it isn't going to accomplish anything. Politicians: Got me elected. Tom: Voters like that game.
A suggestion for gocomics: De-register any username for these ridiculous spammers. Otherwise regular commentors will get fed up and just go away. (Hmmm. That may not be such a bad idea after all, especially for those I don’t agree with.)
Its all about the Benjamins.
I thought that most of my comments sucked until I started to see all this spam.
Especially “meetsuccess” on Yahoo. I think that I might have harassed them off.
You never know.
Enjoy your weekend!
I don’t think liberal commentators and analysts are giving the Tea Party enough credit for at least making serious inroads into deflating the Republican “Machine” that has resulted in similar economic problems as the Democrats have given us over the years. The Tea Party has not just been anti-Democratic, but has also made very serious efforts at reforming Republicans into the types of representatives that will not just enlarge the deficit in different ways than Dems. Thus, you have Miller over Murkowski in Alaska and Bennett losing in Utah.
^ Because neither extreme right nor extreme left are the answer to our economic woes. Tea partiers don’t want to slash defense, they want more of it. Under Bush, the DoD budget ballooned from ~$230 Billion to $660 billion per year. That’s a problem. And somehow it isn’t seen as “waste.”
Obama’s taken the initial step to drop it to $550 Billion, and is seen as “handing America over to the terrists [sic]” by doing so.

WHY is Toles putting up a recycled cartoon from when Reagan took office?
Or was it Bush Sr.?
Or Bush Jr.?
Nahhhh, not that last guy, HE inherited a surplus.

I keep looking for a good avatar. This one is a squirrel dancing under a disco ball.
Lighten up and enjoy this tribute to a modern US President. Speakers on.
