It is the natural right of dogs to “Use the hydrant.”

Yippee, I got all my shopping done and have now finished my turkey broth, the major ingredient in the gravy and the stuffing. Tomorrow will be a big day for pies, cranberry sauce, sweets etc.

More proof that cats are predatory.

Good morning and a happy Thanksgiving eve to my fellow Graham Crackers!

That’s just flat out mean, Chesney. How would you like to be denied use of a litter box? No turkey day treats for you!

Never one to pass up a business opportunity!

We are gathering the family that are within a few hours drive (approximately 17 over three generations). My contributions: two 13 pound turkeys (easier to roast than one 26 pounder), 12 pounds of mashed potatoes and gravy, tomato casserole, minced meat pie and pecan pie ($150+). Let the cooking begin.

Chesney, please inform the other 9 cats, and especially Annie, that I expect you all here at my house for Thanksgiving dinner before 5:00pm. My 2 grandsons already adore my 3 cats and 1 pooch and will go wild when making your acquaintance. An afterthought to this comment is wouldn’t Chesney make a smashing balloon in Macy’s Parade?

Chesney calling the dog ‘Bub’ reminded me of one of our cats, a black female we named Bub, who came to us in the spring of 1983 and presented us with five kittens a couple of months later. We had her and the kittens neutered and kept them all. Bub was with us until 1992. Simon was the last of the litter to leave us, in 2000 at the age of almost 17.
