Democrats rarely, if ever, believe in cutting taxes. Both parties, in general, seem to be against reducing the size of government, cutting redundancies, streamlining anything, or going after fraud, waste, or abuse in the government or those dealing with it at the state or federal level.
Maybe Democrats don’t believe in making tax cuts simply to increase tax cuts for the rich to increase their profits. Maybe spending cuts to humanitarian programs, educational programs, infrastructure programs, even Medicare and Medicaid programs, are not the best places to be taking the money to make up for the tax cuts for the rich. Maybe cutting spending on larger military budgets would be a better economy for the country as a whole. Maybe?

Oh “jlocke” you’re such a card! You can’t stand the truth, can you? California is thriving and Kansas is dying. Tax policy is only one part of it, but it is a particularly instructive part for those challenged by reality. Facts matter. Maybe not for you, but for reality-based people, facts matter.
Hmmm. California has high taxes AND the largest and healthiest economy of the 50 states. Kansas radically lowered their taxes and ran their economy into the ground and the state into massive debt. Tell me again Mr. Republican about your economic theories?
As a senior, my California taxes are almost zero, since they don’t tax my Social Security like the Feds. Sadly, for younger Californians, the state has to make up for the excess per capita federal taxes flowing to states like South Carolina, which receives $7.87 in federal money for every dollar their citizens pay to the IRS.
