Petey may have been ill, “off his feed,” even before Alice coughed up his leaf collection and College Admissions sample. Just look at that disorderly scatter of books and/or papers around him in panel 1: very un-Petey to be so messy!
If his collection is arranged by date, and it is that far down the cabinet, what did he do before that?
